Thematic trails in Szklarska Poręba let you explore the history, culture, traditions, and old customs of the Karkonosze and Izera Mountain locals.
Our walking route suggestions for whole families:
Viewpoint - Złoty Widok
Złoty Widok is a beautiful viewpoint over the Karkonosze with a rest area. There is a large wooden platform with wooden loungers. The trail from Szklarska Poręba to it is short, easy, with gentle slopes, and very pleasant – a forest path. This is an ideal route for the youngest, beginner hikers.
ROUTE:easy, suitable for all, no terrain challenges
In the Kamienna River valley
The easiest yet equally attractive route is along the Kamienna River valley, where Szklarska Poręba lies. This route suits travelers with small children or those less fit. It is short with slight ascents, yet leads to Szklarka Waterfall, the Kochanówka shelter, Chybotek (a slight detour needed), and Złoty Widok. The route starts on the green trail, then (with a small exception) continues along the blue trail. The start and end are in Szklarska Poręba center.
ROUTE: very easy, accessible for everyone, no terrain difficulties
To Wysoki Kamień
Trails north of Szklarska Poręba are as interesting and less demanding than those south, so the next route is to conquer Wysoki Kamień. We start again from Szklarska Poręba and follow the red trail to the Wysoki Kamień summit. At the top, we turn right onto the yellow trail leading to Zakręt Śmierci, passing Czerwone Skałki and Czarna Góra. At Zakręt Śmierci, we switch to the black trail descending to Szklarska Poręba. We join the red trail again and return along the familiar route to the starting point, the end of the trail.
ROUTE: medium, accessible for everyone
